I had an excellent Day 57 of Christmas break (or at least that's what my energy level thinks today is). When I got up this morning I was immediately #inittowinit (after making coffee) because I needed to make all the food before going out to my mom's for lunch. I tried a new to me gf garlic bread (monkey style) that turned out quite well - I think it would be even better if it had proofed longer, or if I had had time to chill the dough before forming the loaf, but it was an admirable (albeit time consuming) first effort.
Becky and [censored] were generally hanging out in the kitchen throughout this and helping with tings like peeling zucchini and sprinkling flour on my hands. Drewbaby and Sammie arrived around 10:30 and also hung out, so they got to participate in the light chaos of me putting together a quadruple batch of zucchini lasagna (perhaps double what we actually needed, but I didn't want anyone to starve). Then I sent others ahead to put stuff in Mom's oven while I took a quick shower before heading out.
Lunch was pretty tasty, if I do say so myself - we also had Mom's ribbon salad, and a Caesar salad, and the lasagna was great. Then we hung out all afternoon - I got them to play Vibe Check with pretty fun results (although Brian will never accept that I think Amsterdam is pretty mid).
Eventually Aunt B prepped a bunch of stuff for tacos, which was a perfect cap (although I forgot to make guac). Then we played a few rounds of scattergories, decided to call the games quits bc the fog was getting intense, and most of us came into town. I was supposed to make ambrosia tonight, but after changing my sheets it was close to ten and I was out of steam, so I gave it up. And now I need to sleep - goodnight!
