day 1 - london
Australia's WWI/WWII War Memorial at Hyde Park Corner. The birthplaces of servicemen who lost their lives are etched into the stones, and some letters are bolded to create the much larger names of the battles in which Australia's forces fought. Water cascades over the main segment, and poppy wreaths pay tribute to the fallen.
The flowers of Hyde Park -- spring is fully in bloom throughout London.
Close-up of the flowers in Hyde Park.
Rotten Row, Hyde Park -- there were no horses when I visited, but during the Regency era, 5pm was a highly fashionable time to see and be seen, and this path would have been teeming with aristocrats in their best riding outfits.
