Today was mostly funeral prep, and I'm reminded of the benefits of #smalltownlife - several people (Barb, Lorena and Ross and their son, and Joan) all showed up at some point to reminisce, which was really nice. Of course, many of Gram's friends are gone too - she's a month shy of her 89th birthday, so her generation is disappearing fast. Lorena flipped through the photo album from Gram's 80th birthday, and many of those people are no longer with us.
But Gram was so involved in the community that she had a very wide circle, so the support has been great. We spent a lot of time going through photos for the funeral home. We also met with the pastor (my former 8th grade English teacher), which was nice. And we just generally hung out, which was nice.
And now I'm desperate for sleep - goodnight!
